New drama is surfacing in London as Bridgerton kicks off Season 2 – a season we have all been waiting for after Season 1’s giant cliffhanger. Episode 1 is full of gossip, redemption, and secrets just waiting to be unfolded making season 2 look quite promising.
Some new characters have been introduced that cannot go unnoticed. The Sharma family has traveled back to London from India and is staying with the Duchess herself – Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh). Lady Danbury is known for her wise words and strong character, and it is safe to say that her presence will only grow stronger within future episodes.
Lady Mary Sharma (Shelley Conn), the mother to Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley) and Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran), are looking for a suiter for Edwina. Whether they will find one is up for debate, but the relationships Kate Sharma seems to be making within episode 1 will leave you with many questions and inevitable chaos to follow.
Bridgerton is known for its’ vibrant colors, detailed custom, and elaborate hairstyles. During the 2021 Emmy Awards, the show won an award for Outstanding Period and/or Character Hairstyling providing their six-person hairstyling team (Marc Pilcher, Lynda Pearce, Claire Matthews, Adam James Phillips, Tania Couper, and Lou Bannel) with an award they most certainly deserved. With that being said, it is safe to say the first episode did not fail to deliver the same incredible characteristic presented throughout season 1 even with the heartbreaking passing of Marc Pilcher – the department’s head hairstylist. May he rest in peace.
Episode 1 not only introduces new characters to the world of Bridgerton but also introduces new storylines. These storylines showcase one of Bridgerton’s strongest characteristics…old-age drama. Similar to Season 1, there are eight episodes total.
With that being said, I will be watching an episode a day from March 31, 2022, through April 7, 2022 (giving you guys a day to catch up;)). I will be posting small videos reviews on both Tiktok and GIZMO – if you guys don’t know what GIZMO please click here) – with an additional short write-up here on my website.
The point of watching television is not to simply watch it. It is to watch and then discuss with others soon. Lady Whistledown is back and better than ever 😉
