[SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND CARE LOVE]
There are many complex things in this world. Social media, politics, and even…love.
Love has the power to bring you happiness unlike anything else and has the power to tear you apart and leave you broken. The decisions we all make in the name of love can cause both outcomes, making it hard to stand your ground in any decision you make.
Anthony Bridgerton has made a decision in the name of love, and although his attention continues to be pulled elsewhere he has to live with that decision and its consequences. He is living up to his duties as the Lord of the Bridgerton. However, those duties come with a price that I’m certain we’ll see him play in future episodes.
Daphne is slowly making more of an appearance as the show continues. However, her role in this season is very different. She is sage and offers advice more so than being up to date on the most recent drama. Even though Daphne is offering great advice to Anthony, he ultimately refuses it – leaving Kate Sharma (and the audience) torn apart.
In other news, Lady Whistledown and her new friend are working together, and it is working well. Colin Bridgerton also has paid a visit to an old friend of his…Marina. Marina is now Lady Craine and has successfully given birth to her twins. Her story was consumed in Season 1 by the Featheringtons and their rejection of her state. After withholding the truth from Colin, he abandoned her…his visit seems to reveal how he feels about those past decisions – all too clearly.
Something else to note about this episode is – the music. The variation of classical music put into this episode with such precise intention cannot go unnoticed. When the music is combined with close-up camera angles it makes it almost impossible to pay attention.
If Victory was defined by transient actions that were practiced in name of duties and responsibility this episode would be a stunning image of Victory. Sadly, I’d say Anthony Bridgerton’s Victory is about to taste like a huge mistake.
