[THERE ARE SPOILERS AHEAD, TURN BACK NOW IF NECESSARY]
“It [poetry] is the art of revealing precious truth with words,” Benedict Bridgerton says passionately to his older brother Anthony Bridgerton. My heart was melting with his words.
Episode 2 – a 53-minute-long masterpiece titled Shock and Surprise – will have you wanting more. The first ten minutes have us gasping for air as we witness Colin Bridgerton, the youngest brother of the three, return from his long travels. A zoom-in shot reveals Penelope’s reaction to his coming home…full of hope and admiration for the handsome. However, that love was quickly met with disappointment during this episode as well…but I digress.
Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton’s tension continues to build while we begin to see the first moments of Edwina standing up to her older sister’s standards. Although Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) made an appearance in episode one, it was only for a short amount of time. The Duke (Simone Basset – played by Rege-Jean Page) has yet to make an appearance leaving me with many questions. However, it is very clear what season 2 is primarily about…
The ending of this episode left us on a giant cliffhanger, and I cannot wait to spend tonight watching Episode 3. I will be live on Instagram at 8:00 PM MST to watch Episode 3, and discuss the drama and gossip with you!
